“Journal of Economic Policies and Research”
The Journal of Economic Policies and Research is published by the Department of Economics, University of Kurdistan, Sanandaj, Iran. Grounded in the research aims of microeconomics and macroeconomics, the journal focuses on: disseminating the results of applied research relevant to economic policymaking; providing a platform for sharing outcomes of academic studies (including theses, dissertations, and summaries of funded research projects); promoting interdisciplinary approaches; producing context-sensitive (locally grounded) scholarly content aligned with economic policy priorities; and supporting the design and implementation of sound and appropriate economic policies based on the theoretical foundations of economics.
Pursuant to Article 13 of the Press Law (approved on March 19, 1986), the publication license for the Quarterly Journal of Economic Policies and Research in the field of economic sciences—issued for nationwide circulation in magazine format under the title of the University of Kurdistan—was registered and granted by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance under License No. 88046. The journal is published in Persian with an extended English abstract, follows a double-blind peer-review process, is issued quarterly, and provides open-access content.
The first issue of the journal was published in Spring 2022, and in the same year it successfully obtained national scientific accreditation from the Commission for the Evaluation of Scientific Journals.

Publication Schedule
- The Journal of Economic Policies and Research is published quarterly (4 issues per year). Each year’s issues are released at the beginning of each season (April, July, October, and December). The journal adheres to this schedule unless exceptional circumstances arise.
Digital Preservation Policy
- Journal Website Archive: PDF versions of all articles are permanently available online through the journal website. In parallel, a backup copy of the same content is maintained on a separate server. In the event of any technical issue or data loss on the main website, articles will be restored from the backup server and republished online in the shortest possible time.
- Indexing Databases: The core metadata, full text, and abstracts of published articles are indexed in various databases. The list of indexing services is available in the “Databases and Indexing” section.
Open Access Policy
- The journal is an open-access publication, meaning all content is available free of charge and without any fees to users. Users may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link to the full texts, and use the content for any other lawful purpose without prior permission from the publisher or the author.
- Immediate open access is based on the principle that free public access to research results strengthens global knowledge exchange and expands scholarly accessibility.
Copyright
- In this open-access journal, authors retain the copyright of their works. By publishing in the journal, authors grant the University of Kurdistan permission to publish the work and to be acknowledged as the original publisher.
- Authors also grant third parties the right to use the article freely, provided that the integrity of the work is preserved and the original authors, full citation details, and the publisher are clearly acknowledged.
License
- The journal operates under the international Creative Commons license CC BY-NC 4.0. Copyright belongs to the authors, who are recognized as the owners of both the moral and material rights to their works.
Publication Ethics Policy
- The journal is committed to ethical standards in scholarly publishing, follows the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), and complies with the executive bylaw of the law on the prevention and counteraction of fraud in scientific works.
- Members of the editorial board, reviewers, and authors are requested to carefully review the journal’s ethics policies. Any concerns regarding plagiarism, citation manipulation, or data fabrication in submitted or published manuscripts should be reported to the journal office via jepr@uok.ac.ir, so the matter can be investigated in accordance with COPE procedures and flowcharts.
Peer-Review Policy
- Reviewers are generally not selected from among editorial board members, except in special and exceptional circumstances where no suitable external expert is available in the manuscript’s subject area.
- All submitted manuscripts, without exception, undergo scientific peer review. Reviews are conducted under a double-blind process, ensuring that the identities of authors and reviewers remain confidential to each other.

Ownership and Management
- The journal is established and managed by the University of Kurdistan. Information regarding its ownership and management is transparently provided on the journal’s homepage.
Advisory Body
- The editorial board consists of recognized experts and distinguished scholars in areas relevant to the journal’s scope. Full details—including names and institutional affiliations—are transparently presented on the journal website and are regularly updated.
- In collaboration with the publisher, the journal periodically reviews the composition of the editorial board to ensure alignment between members’ expertise and the journal’s aims and subject scope.
Fees
- Submission, screening, peer review, and publication are entirely free of charge. No fees are collected for submission, membership, access to articles, or any related services.
Journal Funding
- As the publisher, the University of Kurdistan covers the costs of establishing and maintaining journal infrastructure, editorial workflows, peer review, copyediting, layout and typesetting, and long-term archiving. Funding is allocated per published issue in accordance with the journal’s rank in the annual evaluation published on the portal of the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.
Advertising and Direct Marketing
- The journal does not accept advertisements and does not engage in direct marketing activities.
Similarity Checking System
- To prevent academic misconduct, Persian manuscripts are checked using the similarity-detection systems of IRANDOC and Samim-Noor, and English manuscripts are screened using iThenticate.
- All manuscripts are screened prior to entering the peer-review and publication process. If similarity to internal or external sources exceeds 15%, the manuscript will be excluded from the evaluation process.
Privacy Statement
- Names and email addresses registered on the journal website are used exclusively for purposes related to journal activities. They will not be shared with any other person or organization and will not be used for any other purposes.
