Abstract

The purpose of this paper is investigating the impact of holding major sports events on the urban economy from the point of view of graduate students in the field of physical education at Tehran universities. The method of this research is descriptive and its design is correlation type; it has been done in two parts, qualitative and quantitative. The exploratory factor analysis method with orthogonal rotation was used to investigate the dimensions and factors of the effects of holding a sports event and the structural validity of the research tool. In this research, the statistical population was made up of all graduate students in the field of physical education at the universities of Tehran. The statistical sample of the research based on the research questions was 180 people. The research tool was a researcher-made questionnaire.The research data was analyzed using exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis. The results showed that the components of development infrastructure and management (4.17), cultural development (3.91), and economic development (3.88) were respectively in higher ranks. and were placed less, also the results of linear correlation between the variables showed that the components of infrastructure, management and cultural development have a positive and significant correlation.
